The Day I Dreamt About Little Towns
As we prepare for a nuclear meltdown of a few different genres of music tomorrow night at Southpaw with the Heavyweights, Jones St Boys, C Gibbs and M Shanghai String Band, I think of how many shows I have attended since I moved to New York. Small and big, shitty and lifechanging, and everything in between. I estimate I probably saw about close to 500 shows in the past two and a half years since moving here. My favorite big ones were Arcade Fire with David Bowie at Summer Stage and Sufjan Stevens at Bowery, both last year. My first time seeing Death Cab at Siren Fest was pretty great too. I'm seeing Stars next week, hoping they will manage to make Webster Hall sound good and I don't want to jinx that night but I'm pretty psyched about it. There's a lot of bands I still want to see sometime. The Mountain Goats, Sigur Ros (just missed them the other day), Morrissey, Radiohead (though I've seen them before), and a few others. Who do you still want to see perform that you haven't yet seen?

There's an awful lot of bands and artists that I would love to see.. my number one is Bjork. I've been a fan for 8 years or so now but her shows always sell out way too fast and she doesn't tour so often so.. Same for Bob Dylan!

Another one would be Death Cab For Cutie. They are actually playing in London at the end of the month but it's sold out and tickets are quite expensive on ebay.. which is really a bummer!

I'm going to see We Are Scientists on Friday which I am so fricking excited about!

Some other bands/artists I would love to see includes Jose Gonzales, Joseph Arthur, The Good Life, The Elected...

500 concerts in 2 years is very impressive!!

oh man, how could I have forgotten about Bjork! I am a huge fan, would love to see her. I'm going to try to see Jose Gonzales some time soon too

You were at that Arcade Fire. I thought it was just OK. The opening bands were all good looking but awful. It was cool to see David Bowie.

James Brown! Now that would be spectacular. Lets go see him sometime.

The Smiths will NEVER unite. Marr and Morrissey arent talking anymore and Morrissey wouldnt ever do that. :(
I bet Mano Chao would be a lot of fun to see.

Yes let's go to James Brown. I met him in Lake Tahoe once. HE looks like a wax figure up close.

Maybe Morrissey will get some cute little Mexican boyfriend who will soften his heart and endear him to Marr.

My obsession with the talented Grace Jones is that she is beautiful and one of the most unique black women performers to ever grace a stage.

the new knife record is amazing.
i got to see morrissey at radiocity music hall 2 years ago and its amazing. dont miss him at madison square garden when he plays there for ringleader.
